The high mortality rate of AIDS in Tanzania makes many children orphans. At the Dareda station there is an orphanage with 42 children which is, however, bursting at the seams.

Almost daily there are inquiries if one could accept some more children.

Therefore the construction of a new bigger orphanage with integrated school was started in 2013.

Due to the continuously worsening financial situation of the convent the money was not enough so that the orphanage is now only half – finished.

To finish it about 150.000 € are needed. Should it be finished somehow one day, here will be still bigger costs for maintenance – a bottomless pit…
